Lady Ginger Gold is happy to join the local church choir. They are at St. George's Church to practice their music for Reverend Oliver Hill's upcoming wedding. Taking a break from their practice, Ginger is talking to her friends when a body hurdles from the church balcony onto the pews. Chief Inspector Basil Reed is back on the job. He rounds up the choir members and asks Ginger to sit in on the interviews. Ginger is wary of getting involved with him again, but agrees to help him in a professional capacity.
This is a fast-moving cozy mystery. A lot of the secondary storylines are advanced in this book. I enjoyed the Oliver Hill storyline and the murder mystery. I did not care for the reconciliation with Basil after his abrupt departure in the last book. He really didn't have much of an explanation. My rating: 4 Stars.
