"Natalie Barnes has decided to go for broke and trade her life saving for a Bed and Breakfast called the Grey Whale Inn on Cranberry Island in Maine. Soon the slimy Bernard Katz shows up and announces plans to change the whole inland into a mega resort which will include turning the Grey Whale into a parking lot. So no one is surprised when he is found dead, the only surprise is the who and why. Natalie just has to stay alive long enough to get the whole story out. Great start to a new series plus great recipes at the end of the book.
Oh, and someone needs to tell the author that you don't get knitting wool from a goat.

Having spent many summers on an island in Maine - this was a double favorite. Cozy mystery with interesting characters, in a setting that brought back many memories.
Looking forward to the rest of this series.

I enjoyed my visit to the Grey Whale Inn......even though our heroine is one of those "go into the dark alone" types, despite you saying "no, do not go in there"....Natalie Barnes opens a charming B&B on Cranberry Island and is struggling to keep it going....when her nemesis Bernard Katz , who is planning to bulldoze her beloved Inn for a parking lot for his proposed resort, is found dead, murdered, Natalie becomes suspect number one! To make matters worse, she is the one who discovers the body....But who cut the brakes on her bike, or threw a rock thru her window or conked her on the head ? The police believe these things were all self inflicted....but do they have any connection to the murder? Add to this, a handsome police deputy who rents her outbuilding and some quirky island characters, you have the makings of interesting relationships....I am looking forward to the next addition to this series...and there are yummy receipies included that look easy enough for anyone to make.........
excellent

I thought this was a great first book in the series. I loved the atmosphere, the town, the descriptions, the characters and the storyline. It also has recipes in the book of the book that you can use.
