This is a good book about one of the most sensational murder cases in Hawaii's modern history- one that took years to unravel. It started out as a flawless book. It got a bit tedious during the trial phase. Liars testifying about other liars for years and years.

Hawaii is Heaven-on Earth, with its soft, flower-scented breezes, clear turquoise ocean water, and gently swaying palms. But on Christmas Eve 1991, it became a place of darkest evil, when Dana Ireland was kidnapped by three strangers, raped, savagely beaten, and left to die in the early hours of Christmas morning. A very organized and well-written book About a beautiful young woman who is brutally raped and murdered on Christmas Eve in Hawaii. It took 9 years to solve this horrible crime. I think the Author did a good job of telling this story.

Quiet, nice girl tragically raped and left for dead, and later she does die. Emergency response was poor. Original investigation was poor. Then... dun dun dun... it picks up and it all seems like an episode of CrimeTV on the television.

In beautiful Hawaii on Christmas eve 1991 23 year old Dana Ireland was riding her bike from her boyfriend's place to her parents place when a nightmare unfolded. Three strangers kidnapped, raped, beat her and left her to die. She was alive when good samaritans found her but latter died on Christmas day. If you like detailed courtroom true crime books, this book is for you, I don't but I did find the book easy to read.

A truly sad story of a senseless murder...and the trials that followed.
