After the last installment in the Blackbird sisters mysteries, I was about to give up on Nora. She was starting to get shrill and judgmental (like her family is really any better than Mick's?) and Libby just irritated me to death. Well, Libby still irritates me, but she's much more in the background in this book. Nora finally works out some of her issues. The mystery is solid and the great characters will bring me back for more. Loved this one.

This book was as good as the rest of the series. Went through it quickly.

Nora Blackbird, of the Philadelphia Blackbirds, is having a meltdown. Sister Libby got herself run over by a Rolls-Royce and is recuperating at the Ritz, leaving her five kids in Nora's charge. Sister Emma is on the brink of another bender, thanks to a shocking secret that could shake up the entire family. Then things take a turn for the worse when noted philanthropist Hoyt Cavendish takes a swan dive from an office balcony and it's Nora's friend Lexie who stands accused of the murder. Or did aging cosmetics queen Elena Zanzibar bump off her boyfriend when he cost her millions in an investment scheme? And why is Nora's father hiding in the closet at the murder scene?
