An Excellent addition to the Eleanor Roosevelt Mystery Series. This is Book 12 in the series, the year is 1940 and President Roosevelt in pondering a third term in the White House. At a State Dinner Senator Vance Gibson becomes ill and leaves the ballroom only to be found dead in the East Room minutes later, his throat slit.

While the President deals with the escalating war in Europe and a possible third term, the First Lady continues to hone her sleuthing skills to discover who murder the handsome philanderer.

An exciting mystery that kept me wondering whodunit up until the very end.
