I was very disappointed in the writing.
Even accepting the premise the portrayal of Franklin is flat and one never really cares about the deceased, and henceforth the solution of the crime.

Ben Franklin, along with an actor friend, takes his natural son, Nicholas, to Drury Lane Theater, and while there a man falls to his death from a balcony.
Ben & the boy start by investigating whether it was accident or murder and soon are drawn into checking other accidents that occur at the thearter by it's manager and lead actor, David Garrick. It's a well plotted, traditional mystery set in the 1750's, and is a very entertaining read.
