Michelle K. reviewed Mud Season: How One Woman's Dream of Moving to Vermont, Raising Children, Chickens and Sheep, and Running the Old Country Store Pretty Much Led to One Calamity After Another on
Helpful Score: 2
Mud Season is a great quick read. It's funny, fast paced and well written - making it the perfect vacation or weekend book.
The memoir is written by an ex-city girl about her family's move to rural Southern VT. The descriptions of the setting and food paint an idyllic and detailed picture that makes for a great backdrop for the heroine's various foibles. My book club read it last month and then we went to a reading by the author - she was even funnier and more charming in person!
Definitely worth a read!
