This was a great mystery and one that I didn't figure out. Enjoyable to the very last page. Thank you to Emily Brightwell.
One of the best of the Mrs. Jeffries series. Although I thought I had guessed the villian(s) before the end, I was totally wrong. This book doesn't drag and if you love Victorian mysteries, you will like this series.

When an author drops what appears to be a totally irrelevant piece of information, that's when the reader should sit up and take notice. Most of the time we miss this, only to think of it later when the solution to the crime is presented.
Fortunately, this time I caught it about mid-way through the book. It was an "ah, ha! moment for me. And it eventually proved to a clue to the solution.
Still, this was an enjoyable read and there was more than one solution provided to the problems members of the household staff faced in this book. But relating the other solution would be a spoiler for readers and I won't hint at it.
