Full title: Mr. Wrays Cash Box: Or, The Mask and the MysteryA Christmas Sketch thisas a Christmas book is no way on a par with his contemporary Charles Dickens, with whom he collaborated on several novels and plays. Mr. Wray we find is a retired thespian of the lowest rank. He has a cash box, but what is in it? Mystery number one. There are two villains whom our narrator tells us we shall be happy to see them leave the storyline. They are from the worst part of the countryside. I found them to be wimps. Mystery number two: why were their reputation so fabricated? What has all of this to do with Christmas? Mystery number three. Well Ill solve this one for you. Nothing except that it takes place in the month prior to the Yuletide and end basically on Christmas day. This is a short, entertaining story but hardly up the usual standard of Mr. Collins.
