I love Monk and TV. I love Monk in novels. He's just fun to be around as he solves murders right and left.
I've read the previous Monk novels and enjoyed them all. This one is also good and must reading for Monk fans. It is, however, not quite as good as the previous books.
I was talking about this book with a friend just yesterday. I said that it was not quite as good as the earlier books because it involves a bunch of other former-cop misfits, each with their own unbelievable quirks. The friend said, "Unbelievable quirks? What about Monk himself?"
Hmmm. Well, if you can accept Monk's odd characteristics, why not another three or four folks with other odd beliefs and talents? It becomes a bit much--at least for me. So, even with that caveat, I liked the book and recommend it to other Monk fans.

A very enjoyable Monk mystery...and the preview that is included for the next book has me anxiously awaiting that one too.
A good read. I enjoyed it.
Monk fans only. You think Monk's a misfit? Wait until you meet his new "squad"!
Not as good as the previous ones, but still enjoyable. I'm lloking forward to #4!

If you like the show you will like the book even better.
If you've seen "Monk" on TV, now read "an episode" - he's funny, sad and the book is just delightful.
As a huge fan of the show, I couldn't resist checking out the Monk mysteries. Even thought it's the third in the series, this is the first I've read. Goldberg stays true to the show, although Randy seems a little smarter. I found the mystery interesting and enjoyed hearing the story from Natalie's perspective. Monk fans will enjoy the book. However, they're not good stand alone mysteries. If you've never seen the show, I don't think you'll really get it.
Another good book in the Monk series.
