This is a terrific book on the scary subject of our beautiful planet facing destruction from the abuses of humankind. David Brower is a tough minded optimist. He never sugar-coats the facts, yet gives us plenty of good suggestions for healing our ailing planet. When I read this book, I immediately wanted to contact the author, one of the all-time greatest conservationists. Unfortunately, he's no longer with us, but his book lives on to guide us to be better caretakers of the Earth for our children, our children's children, and all of the natural world.
