Enjoyable romance, and I liked the author's consistent characterization of Maggie, that her reclusive nature isn't immediately forgotten once she marries and has kids. However, I wasn't sure what to make of Maggie's brother, Nathan (the villain of the piece) and his foreman. It had a "gay = perverted + wrong" vibe to it. It seemed a cliched and unnecessary element to have gayness exist in the book only to seemingly "prove" how loathsome Maggie's brother and his cohort were. For that, I dock the rating to 3.5 stars.

I liked Mountain Wild very much. It is built up to through the first two books, Mustang Wild and Maverick Wild, mentioning Mad Mag in all three. I like her story and how Ms Kayne portrays it. Garret is also very lovable. I liked the story. You should read it. I liked Mustang Wild also. I loved Skylar, Garrets older sister. All the main characters are great, Tucker who marries Skylar, Chance, twin to Tucker, who marries Cora, a step-sister who looks him up. Its a good series. It has horse and cattle thieves in it, mean, greedy men, beautiful horses, and of course, the good guys.
