This is the 7th book in the Mitford series and I would recommend starting w/first "At Home in Mitford". This series is a true delight.

I think the Mitford Series is wonderfully appealing. The story of an older Episcopal priest who marries late in life and lives in a small town in N. C. has a no. of interesting town characters and mountain folk situations. Father Tom retires but is unhappy then he decides to take on a unique and difficult ministry. He feels newly energized and even begins to think he likes changes-until an unexpected event propels him on a painful journey that shakes his faith, his marriage, and the whole town of Mitford.

Jan Karon's Mitford Series are comfort books. They invite you in and make you feel welcome, right at home.
If you have never read the Mitford Series I urge you to do so. This is one of the most wholesome and delightful series that I have read in a long time. A good book to curl up with on those chilly nights with lovable characters who may make you laugh and cry.
A great continuation of the endearing story of life in Mitford, it's people and situations. This is one of the best book series I've ever read.
The story continues with Father Tim in his retirement after his return to Mitford. A very relaxing read.

Wonderful book in the Mitford series. A must read series!! You won't be disappointed and will be inspired by all the fun characters.
This was the best Mitford book I've read so far. I laughed, I cried, and I felt the love that the characters shared. If you've been away from Mitford for a while, it's time you paid a visit to this lovable set of characters. You'll honestly set the book down having learned something about yourself and the person you want to be. I know I did. Jan Karon's words are medicine for the soul.
This is the 7th novel in the best-selling Mitford Years series. I loved every one of these books. When I finished the series I was sad to leave these friends behind. Write more, Jan Karon!!!
Seventh book in the Mitford series.

Highly recommend In This Mountain as well as all of the books in this series by Jan Karon. I love reading her books! She makes me laugh out loud. Her characters are all well developed, and she makes them all lovable... or at least finds redeeming qualities in the worst of them.
Ive read the whole series and find it much more fun to read in series order. Fun easy reads, likable characters. If you like to read clean fiction these are great.

Absolutely book and the series, you will want to be friends with all of Mitford.
Another WONDERFUL book in the series about Father Timothy and Mitford. Father Tim and Cynthia think they have life planned out, but God has other plans. See how Father Tim struggles through the dark times and finds hope in his struggle - as do several other characters, including the
"The Man in the Attic" who returns to Mitford. You will feel better and stronger for reading this book.
