I liked the ideas and the information, but what a poorly written book. The organization was confusing, there was way to much meaningless and useless commentary. A real disappointment.
I will have to find some other book to learn about the Mothman activity.

Good book if you're into the paranormal stuff, however, it actually has very little to do with Mothman lore. More on other phenomenon such as UFOs and Bigfoot.

Great book! I read it in one night. Centering on strange phenomenon that happened over a thirteen-month period in Point Pleasant, W. Virginia, John Keel does a great job writing his experiences in a believeable way. Were there really sightings of UFO's, giant birdlike creatures, and the infamous Mothman? According to Keel, the answer is yes. Keel asserts that he witnessed many of these stange events and even made contact with "other beings" who foretold of a great disaster that would happen in the town.

This book was turned into a 2001 movie starring Richard Gere. The book is much better as it goes in depth into the experience. Great for sci-fi fans, believers in UFO's, and conspiracy theorists alike!

I found this book tedious and boring. I was very disappointed, because the description on the back made it seem to be an interesting book and I am personally very interested in anything paranormal. I disliked this book and never finished reading it.

Very interesting. If you want to know more that the movie doesn't tell you, read this book.

"A true story of unexplained terror........." I thought it was convoluted and stupid, but maybe I just didn't get it.

Based on true events, and translated into over thirteen lauguages, this book has long been regarded as a classic in the laiteraure of the unexplained. It is now the basis of a major motion picture starring Richard Gere and Laura Linney.

West Virginia, 1966. For thirteen months the town of Point Pleasant is gripped by a real-life nightmare that culminates in a strategy that makes headlines around the world. Strange occurrences and sightings, including a bizarre winged apparition that becomes known as the Mothman, trouble this ordinary American community. Mysterious lights are seen moving across the sky. Domestic animals are found slaughtered and mutilated. And journalist John Keel, arriving to investigate the freakish events, soon finds himself an integral part of an eerie and unfathomable mystery....

This book was quite interesting and much better than the movie starring Richard Gere. If you like a juicy book, then this one is for you!
