I had high hopes for this book - it appeared to be slow cooker recipes inspired by international flavors. However, I wonder if these recipes were actually tested.
I am scared to try more recipes from this book. I tried a thai-inspired pork recipe, and it was only so-so - the recipe called for way too much peanut butter for my taste.
I also tried a tamale pie. Maybe a crust was supposed to form or something, but it didn't so instead the cornmeal ended up mixed in with the other ingredients which made the dish look very unappetizing and gave it a gross texture.
There are also a lot of chili recipes (which I guess is to be expected for a slow cooker book), but I didn't try those... other slow cooker books have similar chili recipes, so there was nothing innovative in that chapter.
Hopefully you will have better luck with this book than I did. But, as I said, I am scared to try more.

This is a great slow cooker cookbook. Time and pages are devoted to the selection of the correct size and shape slow cooker, correct food handling and cooking techniques for recipes.
There are 16 chapters each devoted to a different food category, with interesting and tasty topics such as "The New Fashioned Bean Pot" and "Fruit Desserts, Sauces and Compotes".
The book was entirely worth the purchase price for me for the "The Slow Cooker Soup Pot" chapter. I'm going to be eating happily and easily for a while!

This is a useful and accessible cookbook for those inclined to use the crockpot as a time saver, and for those who like interesting recipes. For the most part, the recipes aren't so exotic that the ingredients are hard-to-find, yet the recipes are at the same time interesting. All recipes I've used so far have been successful. It's not a book to sit on the shelf being useless, especially if you are prone to use a crockpot in the first place.

This has quickly become one of our main go-to recipe books primarily for dinners.
Not only do they taste great, but they are so easy to do. Some recipe books have you doing a lot of cooking beforehand, but not this one.
