Readable overview covering "women's work" in contemporary America, with plenty of side trips into notable women in history and anchors from Roberts' own life as a young woman coming of age during the sexual and social revolution of the 1960s.

Short biographical sketches of women who accomplished unique things in various fields. I think any feminist would want to read this book. Men would probably enjoy the historical aspects. I doubt I'll read any of her other books.
