Who knew Patty Heaton was both a hilarious writer and a solid advice giver? Her chapter on the realities of marriage alone is priceless! So refreshing to see SOMEONE in Hollywood with her feet on the ground!

"The really important things in life are your family and friends.
And what will people say about you at your funeral-that you won an Emmy once, or that you were a good person, kind and generous? Well, as for me, I hope it's the latter. And the fact that I recently commissioned an Emmy-shaped coffin just eliminates the need for anyone to bring it up."
"Engaging, effervescent...Upbeat memoir that doesn't obsess about the rough times but instead is beguilingly sensible and wise about what is important: the author's family, faith, and craft...An invigorating breath of fresh air." ---Kirkus Reviews

As a fan of Everybody Loves Raymond and a fellow northeast Ohioian myself, I was very interested in reading this book. However, I became disillusioned after she insulted my hometown & I was no longer interested in what she had to say. I finished the book just to have it be done with.

Interesting inside look of how Ms. Heaton handles being famous, along with family, friends, work, etc. She talks about what is most valuable to her.

a breezy look at Heaton's life, anecdotal moments from childhood and a humorous look at life in the faster lane.

I wanted to love this book!
The beginning seemed forced. I think it was on the first page, I read-
a "Dear Friend"... why do celebs feel the need to write about their
"dear friends"? that started me on a sour note. Patricia seemed to be forcing the humor in the first chapter or so... but as I read on, I did enjoy it. Not much juicy detail, if you're into that, but she does find her pace as the book moves along.
Great ending, uplifting motivational words. Well worth the read. Read in one day, no problem.
