Told in POV of Diana the mother-in-law and Her daughter-in-law Lucy in two time periods. Diana is found dead in this family drama set in Australia and it seems to be suicide. However an autopsy was questionable and it was obviously murder. She was a cold hearted, unsympathetic bitch to her son and daughter and her will left her large estate to charity leaving her son and daughter in a financial crisis.

I enjoyed this intriguing read where nothing is as it seems as it came to a satisfactory end.

I was pulled into this story from the beginning pages, it well written although it is in the format of past/present (which is usually irritating) in this case? it works.

told from the POV of the 2 main women it follows their relationship up to the point of murder

I was satisfied with the ending and would recommend this to anyone

Good murder mystery and I loved some of the characters. I didn't like it as well as THE GOOD SISTER but it is enjoyable reading. I look forward to what Hepworth comes up with next.

This was surprisingly a page turner for me. I was pulled in from the first page and wanted to keep reading until the end. A few places seemed to drag out a little so that's why I only give it 4 stars, but overall it was worth the time to read.

This book is a family drama about family relationships. When Diana is found dead, the death is pronounced a suicide but the autopsy proves it was murder. Lucy has not always gotten along with her mother-in-law so the story is told with Diana and Lucy's POV switching from the past to the present throughout the book. The family has deep secrets and they need to find out who benefits from Diana's death.

The Mother-In-Law is a very well written book. From the first page it kept me engaged. You want to know about all of the characters. Everyone is a suspect. It was great reading while it lasted, so 4 stars, but not a keeper for me to reread.
