Having visited the Granada Mosque in Spain, I was eager to read more about the Moorish influence in Spain from the 8th century. They erected fabulous mosques throughout the country. This book explains the stories of the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba and the Mosque of Cristo de la Luz, Toledo, Spain.
Charles River Editors starts with the Romans and explains how the Moors adapted their mosques from the ashes of the Roman Empire in Spain. The stories varied from fascinating detail to mind-numbing minutiae. There were not enough photos to accompany the explanations. Instead, the authors filled some pages with tedious descriptions of square footage. Overall score = G+.
