This is a unique story about Myra, who gives up wealth to marry Oswald for love. We see Nellie (the narrator), Myra, and Oswald over the years. Oswald decides to marry Myra and never regrets the decision.

However, as life's difficulties affect Myra, she regrets her choice. She gave up tremendous wealth for love. At the end of the story, while Myra is dying, the reader is compelled to consider whether the enemy is Oswald or her own heart. This is a sad story and was published in 1926. According to reviews, it was welcomed by critics and readers. It certainly is thought-provoking. Overall score = 4.5 stars.
