In general I enjoy Baxter's work. He tends to combine very interesting fleshed out characters, very convincing hard science and fascinating plots. Moonseed is no exception to this rule.

This book is set in the not so distant future (also a favorite genre of mine), using techonology which seems quite feasable. In the plot we find a group of people who, while already struggling with personal difficulties of their own, face a calamity which threatens the Earth. Great attention is focused to detail: human personalities, political maneuvering, societal, technological and scientific.

I've read this book several times and enjoyed it more and more with each reading.
