Fabulous book! Don't be deceived by the cover, this is not chick lit. Great characters!

A quick read- sweet, gentle and moving. Rebecca's daughter Mary Martha is a particular delight.

A touching book about life and love. I laughed, I cried, I enjoyed this book.

Yet another book with rave reviews that I couldn't stand. Dull, slow, boring and predictable. There was nothing charming about the characters and the writing was mediocre. This one was a complete waste of time for me.

Although I'd never heard of this author, he has written a funny, touching story!

A book with soul. Enjoyable read, but with depth.

Slow at times, but a very good read.
About a monk who leaves his order after 28 years and moves in downstairs from a 38 year old single mother. Touching, sweet moments.

Very cute story! At one point I did start to dislike the main character, but then she got back in my good graces.

I thought the monk aspect would be interesting, but this one never really grabbed me. Okay romance story, but a tad graphic for me in a couple parts. In the end the story was more about loving everyone, which I enjoyed.
A quick, very enjoyable read.
I never read books a second time but this is definitely a keeper for just such purposes. I really enjoyed this book on so many levels.
This was a fairly predictable book. To be honest, I was disappointed....
A story of an unlikely love that occurs between a single-mother and a monk who moves in downstairs.
I truly loved this story. Set in San Francisco Bay Area.
From the Reader's Guide: At once a romantic comedy and a tale of spiritual renewal, The Monk Downstairs is a love story in every sense of the word, a tender exploration of the unforseeable ways in which individual journeys interweave, and of the ways we are changed by the opening of the heart.

Really good book. I enjoyed it.
A fun book to read..

Got this on a recommendation from the LBS. Couldn't really get into it.
