While looking for something different, I tried this book and have to say that I really enjoyed it. While it is different from a regular romance novel, the romance in the story is quite good. It's a definite must-read.

Sure it's a love story, which I usually avoid; but it is one with real people, with real flaws. It is a gentle story, we are pretty sure where it is going, but it is well written. I enjoyed Mike's gentle nature and that the love story centered around his nature not his looks-the stories where everyone just stepped out of the pages of a magazine. I was a bit surprised by the complaints of graphic details, many male authors slide into the crude in romance, I don't think this one did; but Mike didn't come out of a Hallmark movie, either. It is an adult story, as love is a bit different at 40 than 20.

I thought the monk aspect would be interesting, but this one never really grabbed me. Okay romance story, but a tad graphic for me in a couple parts. In the end the story was more about loving everyone, which I enjoyed.
