This book helped me tremendously. It's easy to read and her systems work well. A year after taking her advice...I make more money, my credit score jumped 50 points, and life is fabulous!

This is a great book for anyone with financial difficulties. It covers the basics for everyone. This book covers credit reports, what that means to you, and how to improve; career moves, credit cards, student loans, savings, retirement, investing, big-ticket purchases and more. It's great for anyone starting out or needing a refresher course on finances. This book is a gift for my son and his fiance, who are in the military and will be starting out on their own soon.

really enjoying. finally a financial book for those of us right out of school and have no idea what a FICO score is or that letting your school loans lapse is a VERY bad idea. I would really recommend this book to all of us that are young fabulous and BROKE!

This book turned my financial picture around 180 degrees! From $20,000 student loan debt, $15,000 credit card debt, and not sure how to dig out...to all loans paid off, new car purchased, retirement started, emergency savings built up, and house bought. Very helpful!!

I agree with about 95 to 99 percent of Suze's advise. Am giving this to my high school-graduated granddaughter so hopefully she can start out on the right foot, especially as pertains to student loans. Also: Save, Save, Save!!! Has lots of references to her website, no surprise. I feel that I am financially savey, having been raised in a very financially diligent home, having worked with educated, successful people, and done a sufficient amount of reading/research on my own and am not driven by consumerism. However, for those who have not been so exposed or lucky, this is a worthwhile read for initial awareness and guidance. Then use your own judgement. Her essential principles are right-directed.

Of course I knew most of this already and agree with Suze about 98% of the time. Watch her show regularly but also know she is in the 'business' to make money - just not as a stock broker anymore. So I don't take her as the know all to end all, just add her to my repertoire. However, I bought the book so I could read, evaluate, and pass it on to my 16 year old granddaughter. I think it is a good enough basic book to get a young person, especially not financial savy or with any good money management teaching, a head start towards becoming financially stable. Experience is always going to be the best teacher, but hopefully this book will help most novices avoid costly mistakes in both dollars and time. Good explanation of terms, many references to other web sites, and tools.

This is a great book for those of us that are not talented with budgeting our money.

I do appreciate Orman's understanding of my generation's lifestyle and mindset; however, not all of her ideas are practical. Apply them at your own risk.
I got this book for my son - like him mother, he is not the most fiscally cautious. He has really taken what Suze Orman has to say to heart and is making significant changes in both his financial habits and approach to money in general. Thank you Suze, you've saved him some rough patches!
Good advice.
