This book was wonderful. It is the story of a staid librarian who gets her life turned upside down by a man with a missionary call. The story of how she ends up in a New Guinea jungle is interesting and what happens in the coming months holds your attention. I loved seeing the progression of this character. This book holds your attention from beginning to end, keeping you laughing and sympathizing.

I loved this book. Johanna reminded me so much of myself. How many blessings we miss by not leaning on the Lord's will.
Poo changes Johanna with a God-given unconditional love that she is able to see, touch, love, and hug.

I read a lot of Christian fiction, but this is by far one of my all time favorites. This book made me think about my own relationship with God and really made me question whether or not I am truly in God's will and following my calling. Excellent book!

This book was ok, but after reading so many true missionary biographies, truth is better than fiction. The little New Guinea girl was sweet and true to life. Overall a good book, but not my favorite.
I really enjoyed reading this book! Sometimes, when I think about the subject matter, I totally find myself thinking some of the same things, and it's nice to know I'm not alone.
I loved this book. I felt like I was on this journey with Joeanna. Heart warming as well as laughter. Lori is one of my fav. writters. I could feel God working in her life.
