A good enough book about Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy. A topic which I always just consider torture-murder since there is no defined mental illness for the cruel, self-centered individuals who commit these acts within their families. The medical details were immaculately presented, sometimes a little dry. But when someone stages 18-20 incidents to the emergency room with a child it makes for a lot of facts. Fair, if somewhat unimaginative writing, with occasional flashes of interesting imagery or poetry. It seemed a lot might have been left unsaid about family dynamics. I did find the author's constant references to the prosecuting female attorney's physical attractiveness a little creepy and overwhelming. Seemed like he had a pretty strong admiration for her looks! A good read.
