My daughter loves this book! She's 3 years old and has the Eric Carle video that has this book as a story plus 4 others. She loves the silly Chameleon getting all mixed up, plus the message that it's ok to be who you are.
The Mixed-Up Chameleon by Eric Carle tells the story of a chameleon who isn't happy with himself and wants to be like the animals he sees in the zoo. This story teaches children about the uniqueness of different animals. But it also teaches children that it is important to be themselves.
Eric Carle continues to entertain us over here in this household. My daughter (2 years old) loved to see the different parts of the animals on the chameleon and pointed out all the colors, the pages are interactive as usual and we loved this book.
My son liked this book originally for all the different animals, but when he started to learn about being your own person, he loved it even more... he likes knowing that he is the one of him around and thinks the chameleon makes the right choices in the end.
