The target was Rabaul, and the Japs were ready when the 3rd Bomber Group attacked. After the black clouds of ack-ack smoke cleared, several planes wee missing - among them the POWERFUL KATRINA and her crew of five. Witnesses had seen the plane engulfed in flames, out of control, dropping helplessly toward the water.
No one could have survived the crash - or so it seemed.
Then, one by one, the crew members began to straggle back to base, each with a more incredible store than the last. And none of the stories were the same.
