Casey's debut psychological thriller. I would have to say that she has been talented right from the start of her writing career! Thought I knew who the killer was but a surprise twist right at the end took care of that thought. I have read all her books at this point but I am anxiously awaiting another Kerrigan book coming out in April. If you haven't read Casey yet, what are you waiting for? She does not disappoint!
The Missing is two stories in one that eventually converge, told in alternating chapters. As a child, Sarah Finch's brother Charlie disappears. The body is never found, and the loss of Charlie destroys her family, particularly her mother. Now an adult working as a school teacher, Sarah becomes involved in another missing persons case when she finds the body of one of her students.
The Missing starts out a bit slowly, but the pace picks up considerably in the second half. Sarah can be annoying at times. However, there are enough twists and turns to keep the reader engaged.
