Before there was Magic (Tree House and School Bus), there was Miss Pickerell. This wildly popular series has the same quirky sweet humor and educational aspects of the newer series, both of which in many ways can be considered Miss Pickerell's progeny. Of course some of the facts may be dated somewhat by the age of the series, but it is no less delightful to read.
