Karen Rose comes up with the most convoluted, fascinating plots and instead of being confusing are clearly understandable. Love her books!

Awesome Book!! Karen Rose is a fantastic author!
Daphne finds herself in a series of events where her son is kidnapped, she is also shot at, and the only one who can keep her safe and find her son, is Agent Carter.
This is a great book that will keep you up all night

I can't recall reading a Karen Rose book that I haven't liked and this was no exception. She has an undeniable ability to pull you into the story from the first page and keeps the momentum all the way thru to the last page. This particular series centers around the Baltimore PD, with Feds and PI's thrown in. Each book is a great stand alone and they really don't have to be read in order, they may make a bit more sense if you do, but it's not necessary. Characters in one book will show up in another book and have their own story. These aren't cliff hangers as I've said they are great stand alones. I highly recommend this book along with any of the others in the series as well as other books she has written.
Really liked this book. This is my first Karen Rose read, and won't be my last. I'm sure I read a "series" book out of order, but it's not my first time in doing so, & if I can read a J.A. Jance 10th book in a series, & then go back and read all 18 afterwards, reading one out of order is par for the course for me. This is a good read!
It's just another day for Baltimore prosecutor Daphne Montgomery until she is attacked in court. Shortly after that, she is shot while answering questions for the press. Lucky for her, she is wearing kevlar. Daphne is saved by FBI Special Agent Joseph Carter. He has arrived to give Daphne some more bad news. Her son, Ford Elkhart, has been kidnapped. The main suspects are the family of the man she is prosecuting, but they couldn't have done it on their own. Evidence points to an incident from Daphne's past. Daphne and Joseph race against time to find Ford.
It's been a while since I've read a book by this author. I forgot that I should use a score card to keep track of all of the characters. This is the third book in her Baltimore series. I think every character from the first two books is working on this case. There are so many plot threads and details in this story, it wouldn't be hard to overlook something important. The story itself takes place over three days. Since the hero and heroine were attracted to each other before the story began, the short time-span did not detract from the romance. My rating: 4 Stars.

This thriller about the kidnapping of a prosecutor's son has more plot noodles than a Chinese dinner, and keeps piling on more long after Fearless Reader has gone into overload. It also appears to be either a sequel or part of a series, and is jammed with dozens of characters and their intersecting, overlapping relationships.
