Humorous regency! To avoid her uncle's machinations to marry her off, the protagonist pretends to be engaged to a local lord far above her touch. whom she barely knows and who is conveniently given up for dead. And then he comes back! The unrepentant, feisty heroine is a delight!
I've had this one for ages and I re-read it from time to time, each time enjoying it more, especially since funny regencies are rare.
