# 3 in the Springwater Seasons. Miranda arrives Springwater via the same stage that Savannah and Dr. Parrish. She is in labor when the stage picks her up on the side of road. She likes Landry from the first time she sees him. He is a widow with two boys of this own. He and Miranda get married, first it is a marriage of convenience, but Landry soon discovers that he is in love with Miranda.

Thrown out by her father for bearing an illegitimate child, Miranda Leebrook and her newborn ended up in Springwater completely by chance. But in this kindly town, Miranda finds what she most desires; acceptance and friendship for herself and her baby boy. When rancher Landry Kildare offers her a marriage of convenience, Miranda accepts, and is happy at last to find a place to settle down. To Landry's way of thinking, the arrangement is purely practical: Miranda needs a home, and he is desperate for a caretaker for his two mischievous boys. But Miranda's sweet sensuality soon has his thoughts turning a different direction. With Miranda as his wife, Landry wants nothing more than to show her all the joys of life, and share with her the daily surprises, special moments, and deepening passion of a marriage that was meant to be.

Thrown out by her father for bearing an illegitimate child, Miranda Leebrook and her newborn are looking for a new chance at life. "Miranda" is part of a series that began with "Springwater" and continues in four novels, and culminates with "A Springwater Christmas".

I love this series. Miller, as usual, puts you right in the period of time and makes you feel like just one of the characters. I really enjoyed!

First let me say that I did enjoy this book. There were things about Landry's thoughts in the beginning that irked me: like thinking of Miranda as a woman/child yet wanting to bed her or knowing he will never respect her because she is a fallen woman therefore will never replace his dead wife in his heart. Or when he wants to get laid so he ask Miranda to put the baby on cow's milk and stop nursing? So in many ways, it was hard to like him but his actions eventually were very sweet and eventually won me over.

I loved Miranda. She was very sweet and kept trying to do her best. I think in her shoes I would have been a little bit more angry with Landry being so stuck on his dead wife.

The "I love you" exchanges kind of came a bit sudden for me and there were a few very minor inconsistency to the series (like the baby's father is referred to as Tom here but in Savannah's book he was Jack). But overall it kept my interest and will most likely continue on with the series.

I have not read this book as I am not avid about westerns. This book seems to be part of a series that I have not read.
The story seems to be about a gal thrown out of her father's home when she becomes pregnant without a husband around. She moves to another town where she and her son are accepted. She enters into a marriage of convenience with a man who has 2 sons already.
This is from the Springwater series
