Miranda Lowe has just lost her job and her sister (she died having a baby) on the same day. Devastated on both counts, Miranda finds an ad for mail-order brides. With no place to stay for the night and little money, Miranda sees little choice.

John Weaver needs a mother for his twin five-year-old daughters. He's still in love with his wife and no one where he lives wants a ready-made family. Thus, he asks for a mail-order bride. Unfortunately, he neglects to tell this to his new bride.

Mail-order brides are one of my favorite plot types, however, this one just replayed the general themes, although the author did it well. This is the opening book of a 5-book series about women who come to Sapphire Springs, Texas, to marry. It is less than 150-pages and the plot moves at a brisk pace.
