I love the story, hate the marketing. It is packaged as cheap horror-erotica. The author seems to revel in how twisted her characters are. Like she's the first to write from a serial-killer's POV. The trashy covers do not reflect the story. And I despise selling chapters as "books". This kindle series is about $2 per 100 pages. But I would pay $10 for the book, easily.
I don't have anything against trashy erotica. Or twisty horror. But the marketing (and editing) on this one does a disservice to the story.
I could not put it down. And I came away from it feeling like I had read a contemporary romance mystery, not like I had been put through the wringer of a psychological thriller.
If you routinely read cozies, this may be a little dark for you. If you read horror/thriller, not at all.
