A grand, complicated novel that can be enjoyed on several levels: as an adventure tale, as a modern retelling of Christ's life, or as a satire of modern times. Milroy the Magician is hilarious and thought-provoking.

My hubby refuses to NOT finish a book so he suffered through but it took FOREVER because the book was boring and he kept napping instead of reading. The content he discussed with me was just plain weird and didn't seem to make any sense nor was a I amused. It has a lot of bible references & we are NOT religious so maybe he just missed the point or something. I don't know but I didn't even bother trying. He as drawn to finish it because it refers to a secret- once revealed, it was highly disappointing.
