Andrew Greeley's books mix a dash of history with light morality from the Catholic point of view. This book covered a time period in Germany after WWII that I had never read about and, from that perspective, was a very interesting read. The sequel prooves to be just as entertaining.

Stationed in Bamberg, Germany in the aftermath of WWII, Charles O'Malley can't seem to keep out of harm's way. And until the day he meets beautiful 17 year old Trudi, a girl on the run, he manages to keep himself in one piece
I'm a Greeley fan - and this book is a good example of why!
Loved The O'Mallely series.
