I adored this story.
Set in London in 1852.
The characters' relationship had chemistry.
The story-line had a great twist!
Certain aspects were heart wrenching.
The ending was excellent and didn't linger.
The prologue and epilogue are both written in 1st person from the hero's view and his story thoughout is touching.
I will say however, that although the book was meant to stand alone, a lot could be gained by reading the previous stories in this series first. They are all excellent books, and the previous characters all make appearances in this one.

Disappointing! The book didn't stand well alone. The romance and the plot were rushed and contrived with perfectly forgettable characters.

This was a really good read, especially for a 4th book in the series. I liked the development of the characters and how the main characters from the previous books continued to be involved and you can see the relationship of the group continue. Fun,suspenseful, intense and really playful. Was a great series.

I really like this book, I thought it was a fast read, romantic and had a little twist. Very enjoyable.
Another great book by Lorraine Heath! The series is awesome!

For me this was the least enjoyable of the Scoundrels of St. James series. I didn't much care for the heroine, who was deceiving the hero all through this book. And the plot twist which is not revealed until late in the story was just nuts!

Well, I skipped my way through the fillers and found out how Swindler fared. I knew it would be a 'happily-ever-after', but I wanted to know how the H/H got there. Recommend. Fast read unless you like to read all the extra verbiage.

I enjoyed the book or should I say the series.
