Austenland was the first book that I read by Shannon Hale, so it seemed only natural to follow up with Midnight in Austenland. The book did have some good parts, some funny moments, and good style ideas. I like the way that she told the story of the past with the flashbacks, but overall the book was just a piece of fluff. If you want to read Shannon Hale, I would suggest you read the Bayern books.

This is the 2nd book in the series.

This is a book about a woman trying to find a way to rebegin her life, therefore she takes a vacation over seas at a resort called Austenland. At Austenland she must play the part and become that time period. During her stay she finds out more about herself and what she can do.

A must read.

I liked this book more than the first Austenland. It has a definite Northanger Abbey feel to it - at once fun, spooky, and all in all, delightful. There are familiar characters - and one, who had annoyed me in the first book, turns into a wonderful friend in this one! Of course, the very improbability that "all who enter here are loved", is quite hilarious. Rather than Brighton, Lydia Bennet ought to have gone to Austenland, for "THAT is the place to get husbands".

A fast, fun read.

The sequel to Austenland, which I must say I enjoyed more than this installment. Charlotte's personal life is a mess. She decides to leave her reality for 1816 and step back into the world of Austen. While there, and instead of enjoying her vacation, she stumbles upon a murder, love and her true self. A quirky read and enjoyable for anyone who is a fan of Ms. Austen.
