Not a "happy" book to read, but short and sweet and it makes you realize that the border between right and wrong is a bigger gray area than you thought. Absolutely worth the time to read. A classic you'll think about long after you turn the last page.
I'm not really a big Steinbeck fan. I had to read these for a college course. However, Of Mice and Men is pretty good.
Cannery Row - I couldn't finish it. After two or three chapters of wondering what the book was about and just being introduced to character after character I gave up.
