Clever plot and dialogue. Unique characters and an interesting "bad guys get away with it" slant.

I really like the Jane Whitefield series so I was enthused to read more by Perry. The Butcher's Boy was okay but Metzger's Dog was tough to put down. This is hilarious and well thought out and the characters are very enjoyable.

If you like Ross Thomas, you will also like this non-series thriller by Thomas Perry. And if you haven't read Thomas Perry yet, "Metzger's Dog" is a good place to start.

This is a hard to put down fun and humorous read. Well written with a good storyline, Well developed and likeable main characters and a great dog and cat(Metzger)thrown into the mix. This is my first Thomas Perry read but most definitely not my last.

Early Thomas Perry. It's funny, but it's also a good read and a solidly plotted thriller. Has an introduction by Carl Hiaasen, which should tell you something about its sensibility.

A good, slightly strange thriller.
