I had originally purchased this book because the series was recommended by the 2006 Book Lover's Calendar. Unfortunately, I couldn't get into it because the beginning wasn't gripping enough for me. The story didn't get off to a fast enough start, and I felt like too many characters were being introduced all at once and I couldn't keep up without taking notes. Overall it could have been a nice enough romance, but not good enough to keep my interest.

This was actually a really good book. Romance with a 'ghost story' as the main plot. I was pleasantly surprised...

Story of Olivia Moreland and Stephan St Leger. A story that is hard to put down, full of evil spirits, real and fake, and a saga from Medival times that has many unusual twists and turns.

The framing story, with ghosts, mediums, and the Victorian seance fad, was interesting and better than in most romance novels. The love story, however seemed more like an afterthought. I didn't get a very clear picture of the hero at all. It was still an enjoyable read, though.

Excellent paranormal historical romance! Has a wonderful almost gothic atmosphere. The characters are well developed and the romance developes at a nice pace...no graphic encounters 30 pages into the book. This book was all about the mystery and romace...not just sex. This is my second book by this author and I have enjoyed both.
