This was fun to read while I was on a trip to Mesa Verde, but I'm not sure I'd recommend it as a mystery on its own merits if you aren't visitng the park. The author gets both the historical details and the feel of the local town right. The lead is a family man with good interactions with his stepdaughters. The fact that the girls get to tag along while he tracks down a killer is a little hard to believe.
