This story is about an older woman and some of the trials and joys she goes through as she tries to live her life for Christ. She spends her days helping others. Woman in her age group will get a kick out of some of her habits!

A part of a series about a somewhat eccentric lady named Esmeralda. I liked the homespun humor and the quirky writing and characters. This is a good afternoon read.

Very difficult to get into but couldn't put it down after the first few chapters. The characters became intriguing & endearing. The plot really picked up & I couldn't put the book down because I was interested in how it turned out. Esmeralda is a beautiful & very human example of how we should live out our faith. I found her ignorance (Splurgeon) adorable & her simple faith inspiring.
