Of the branches of this family, it may be sufficient to mention the following, as being more particularly connected with the subject of this memoir. Anna Letitia, another daughter of Sir Francis Wingate, was married to the Rev. John Jennings, of Kibworth Harcourt, in Leicestershire, and in this line there was a farther and more intimate relation between Mr. Belsham's family and Mr. Whit- bread's; for Arthur, son of the above John Jennings and Anna Letitia his wife, was united by a second marriage to Elizabeth, the sister of Samuel Whitbread, the elder, Esq., M. P. Jane, the youngest daughter of Mr. Jennings, was married to John Aikin, D.D., of Warrington, father of the late John Aikin, M. D., of London, and of Anna Letitia, the wife of the Rev. Rochemont Barbauld. Frances, daughter of Mr. Woodward, and sister to Mrs. James Belsham, was first married to the Rev. Samuel Sanderson, of Bedford, and afterwards to the Rev. Edward Pickard, of London. Frances, the eldest of Mr. James Belsham's family, was married to Mr. Timothy Healey, of Berk- hampstead, whose daughter Anne married Mr. T. Prentice. Mary, his second daughter, married the Rev.Robert King, D.D., afterwards Dean of Killala. The descendants of these daughters are the only representatives of the Rev. James Belsham's numerous family.
