Excerpt: In England the Reformation, as to the Settlement of it, began in the Crown, the fereral Kings put the firft Hand to it: As i . King Henry VIII, by dethroning the Pope's Supremacy, demolifhing the religious Houfes, forbidding Appeals to Rome, and the like. 2. King Edward VI, by a general Overthrow of all the Popifh Hierarchy, cafting their Images out of the Churches, their Mafs, and all their Romijh Innovations out of their Worfhip, dethroning their whole Authority, and rooting out the Remains of their Ceremonies from the Nation.
