A poignant tale of the people being treated by Dr. Groopman, and his feelings for each one. He tells the person's story in detail, from the first time he meets each one, and through his treatments of them. His medical explanations are simple to understand. He treated many kinds of cancerous blood diseases, as well as AIDS during the early onset of that epidemic, from the 1980's through the 1990's. Interesting and informative. The history of the research, and the progress made in treating this and other ailments is astonishing. D.
