Another good read about the romantic rogues of the McKettrick family in the ranch town of Indian Rock, Arizona!
The second of a five-book series, this is about Jesse McKettrick and his best friends and cousins who grew up with him on the beautiful and wild McKettrick ranch, featured through several generations in previous Miller books.
("McKettrick's Luck" falls between "McKettrick's Choice" and "McKettrick's Pride.")
Jesse has bought spectacular acreage, wild and full of first-growth trees and animals scarcely seen, plus the headwaters of the river, crucial to his family's adjoining ranch.
Enter Cheyenne, a local girl from a disfunctional family who had moved to the city, hoping never to return, but now must coerce Jesse to sell his unique acreage for her company's condo project, to earn money for her teenage brother, paralyzed and trying to recover from an accident.
Great suspense between two people who are attracted to each other but must fight for the needs of their own families! And how the sparks do fly!
Another good sideline of the story is Cheyenne's brother's battle within himself and with his family to become more independent, being at an age when young men want "a girlfriend and a job." A fun book and good inspiration to all ages!
