Full of karate, pistol-whipping, and other malevolent mayhem, Catherine Coulter's The Maze could be described as a junior-varsity version of Silence of the Lambs. As in that novel, the heroine in The Maze, Lacey Sherlock, becomes an FBI agent to help unravel the mysteries of her own past. Seven years after her sister was brutally slain by a serial killer (the wonderfully creepy "String Killer"), Lacey is assigned to the FBI's Criminal Apprehension Unit (CAU). The CAU, headed by brawny bureau egghead Dillon Savich, uses computer modeling to catch the baddest guys around--it's like profiling, but with databases. Before you know it, Dillon and Lacey are tangling with the String Killer. Even when the scenarios are not terribly inventive--"Let's use Lacey as bait! I read this book after reading The Cove. I like the fact that the main characters from the first book also have a small part in this book. It ties the two books together nicely and kind of gives the reader a clue to what the people from the Cove are doing now, with out distracting the reader from the characters and plot of the Maze.....
A good read. I recommend This series of books to any one who likes to read a series and see the same people repeated though out..... But because the books add new characters and add onto the story and each case is new it never gets boring.

I couldn't get into the first book in this series, but I enjoyed "The Maze" very much. Sherlock on her own is too impulsive, but she and Savich make a good team. I'm looking forward to reading the other books featuring them.

This is the first time I've read this author, it was a great read!
I so enjoyed this book. It had suspense, romance and humor. It was centered on how Dillon and Sherlock (FBI agents) teamed up. It's the first in Coulter's FBI series. I enjoy any of Coulter's books with Dillon and Sherlock and did not realize that there was a book describing their meeting, teaming, and romancing.
Catherine Coulter does it again. This is part of her FBI series books. It was a fun read, gave me chills and made me double check the locks on my doors! It also contains some romance, so beware! Good read!!!!!

Catherine Coulter does it again. What a enthralling book. Lacey Sherlock is driven to find the man who killed her sister. What better way to do that than to join the FBI. There she meets Dillon Savich who brings her into his computer forensic team. She is right where she needs to be in order to find out about the String Killer. During this time, Sherlock and Savich are becoming closer by working out together at the gym and working on the same cases. Finally, after seven years, the killer strikes again. She recognizes his m.o. immediately and rushes to Boston to capture him. Unfortunately, she does not tell Savich what she is doing and then the fun begins. He is furious that she has not told him of her past. After several days, he decides to let her pursue the case, but only with him as her partner. Many twists and turns follow to make you wonder if the string killer really did it.Was it the jealous husband? Was it her judgemental father? Her crazy mother? This book will keep you guessing until the end. Sherlock and Savich are a lot fun and their love story is wonderful. Also, if you read the first book in this series, The Cove, then look for James and Sally Quinlan.

WOW! I loved this book. It had a little bit of everything in it (including murder, drama, romance, humor). Everytime I had to put it down I just couldn't wait to get back to it.
This is a murder mystery that is fast moving with suspense and a bit of romance. There are surprises all through the book. Great book.

The Cove is a quaint little postcZArd town made up only of old folk. This is a nonstop romantic and suspense story. This is the first book I have read by Catherine Coulter. Very entertaining.

This is the 2nd in the Sherlock and Savich FBI series. This one is where Sherlock comes on the scene in a murder that is so close to home it consumes her life. You will hold your breath till the very end!

All of the FBI books by this author are great!
I just discovered Catherine Coulter's Books and they are wonderful. I am reading the FBI series and they are so interesting. Once you start reading you can't put them down. i especially like the intrigue and the twists and turns of the stories. She takes you to the very end and only then do you have a picture of what might happen. Her stories are all tied up in a realistic manner and put to bed at the end. This is my second read of hers and I will continue to read the others in the series. Excellent writer.
As usual Catherine Coulter did a great job at keeping one up after bedtime reading the book. She can keep a reader involved with the characters and want more.

This is the third book I have read by Catherine Coulter and the second in the series. I started out with the third novel "The Target" which sold me into reading more of her books, it was an excellent read which I couldn't put down! I can say "The Maze" has a fair story and story line as did "The Cove" her first book, not top notch, but sufficient. Not many twists and turns although it did have me guessing some! The problem I have had with Ms. Coulter's first two books is she tries to get too cute with her writing by injecting comments that in normal life wouldn't happen. The comments try to be cute, quirt, and just odd, they in my belief completely takes away from telling the story! I believe it actually slows down the flow of the book, as I had to stop and re-read, then think did they really say that?? At any rate I do enjoy the main characters Dillion Savich who helps solve the crime via his computer inputs, and Lacey Sherlock a new agent, whom are both taken with each other and team up to solve a string of vicious murders involving a serial killer who torments his victims in a Maze. I would suggest if you are a first time reader with this author, start with the third in the series as I did. Then decide if you want to go read the first two books in the series or move to the 4th. I am hoping the fourth picks up with the pace that the third book had!!!!
