Included in these stories about deciding to have children, the authors reflect on their culture, life choices, the families that they grew up in and on the fact that life often does not work out as we planned. If you are trying to decide if you want children, or if you are already a parent, I recommend this collection of stories.

Many self-absorbed writers talk about the decision to become parents. If the characters don't annoy you, it might help you come to your own decision about whether or not to have a child, but most normal people aren't quite as into themselves as these writers are!
